Fusilli pasta, spicy minced meat, a creamy tomato sauce & everything gratinated with cheese. That’s all it takes to cook a delicious pasta bake & make the whole family happy.

Cumin, turmeric and sweet paprika powder give the pasta dish the special seasoning, alternatively the spices can also be replaced at your own taste. Have fun cooking!

Simple Pasta Bake with Ground Meat

Ingredients for 4 – 6 servings:

  • 500 grams fusilli pasta
  • 500 grams ground meat (half pork/half beef)
  • 200 milliliters cream
  • 200 milliliters water
  • 150 grams grated cheese
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 – 2 clove(s) garlic
  • Each a teaspoon of cumin, turmeric & sweet paprika powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt, pepper & sugar
  • 2 – 3 sprigs fresh parsley for garnishing

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Large pot to cook pasta
  • Colander
  • Large pan for the met sauce
  • Suitable baking dish

Heat up a large pot with salted water & cook fusilli pasta al dente for about about 6 – 7 minutes or according package directions, then drain over a colander. Peel off an onion & finely chop. Also finely chop 1 – 2 clove(s) garlic.

…for the meat sauce:

Heat up a large frying pan adding a good dash oil & sweat onions & garlic for about 2 – 3 minutes over medium heat until glassy, stirring occasionally. Next, add 500 grams ground meat & brown for another 2 – 3 minutes until crumbly, stirring from time to time.




If that’s done season the meat with a teaspoon each of cumin, turmeric & sweet paprika powder, also with a good pinch salt, sugar & pepper. Stir in spices & finally pour in 200 milliliters cream, 200 milliliters water & a can chopped tomatoes to finish the sauce.

…for the pasta bake:

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) in good time. Bring the meat sauce to a simmer, then add the drained fusilli pasta, give everything a good stir & then transfer pasta to a suitable baking dish.




Sprinkle the pasta bake with 150 grams grated cheese & then bake in a preheated oven for 20 – 25 minutes until the cheese is melted & has a golden brown crust. Get the done pasta bake out of the oven, dish up on plates and serve garnished with some chopped parsley. I wish you lots of fun cooking 😉
