Juicy chicken breast fillets, delicious cream sauce, a good portion of onions & everything gratinated with cheese. Sounds awesome? It is 😉 The oven baked chicken fillets are super easy to prepare & within 35 – 40 minutes on the table.

Alternatively, the chicken can also be replaced by, for example, pork loin. In addition, the cream sauce can be refined to your own taste with different spices, here in the recipe only hot and sweet paprika used to round off the sauce. Have fun cooking!

Ingredients for 4 – 6 servings:

  • 4 chicken breast fillets
  • 2 – 3 onions (depending on their size)
  • 200 milliliters cream
  • 150 grams creme fraiche
  • 100 grams grated cheese
  • 1 – 2 clove(s) garlic
  • Each a teaspoon sweet & hot paprika powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 – 3 sprigs fresh parsley for garnishing

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Large pan to brown chicken & cook sauce
  • Suitable baking dish

Preheat oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Peel off onions & cut into thin strips. Peel off garlic & finely chop. Also finely chop fresh parsley & set aside until garnishing. Season chicken with salt & pepper to taste.

Heat up a large pan adding a dash of oil & sear chicken for about 2 minutes each side over medium-high heat, then lift chicken out of the pan & place in a small casserole dish.




Next, put onions & garlic to the pan & sweat over medium heat for another 2 – 3 minutes, stirring occasionally & if necessary add some more oil to the pan while frying. Afterwards add 200 milliliters cream & 150 grams creme fraiche, also season the sauce with ½ teaspoon each of hot & sweet paprika powder.

Give everything a good stir, bring to a simmer & then remove sauce from heat. Pour the creamy onion sauce over the chicken breast fillets, sprinkle everything with about 100 grams grated cheese & then bake in the preheated oven for 15 – 20 minutes until golden brown.




Get the done chicken out of the oven, dish up along with some fries & finally garnish everything with some finely chopped parsley. I wish you lots of fun cooking 😉
