Ingredients for 2 – 3 servings:
- 300 grams sieved tomatoes
- 250 grams spaghetti
- 200 grams cherry tomatoes
- 100 milliliters cream
- 10 – 12 prawns
- 1 onion
- 1 – 2 clove(s) garlic
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Oil for frying
- Salt, sugar, pepper & chili flakes for seasoning
- Basil for garnishing
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Pot or saucepan for sauce
- Large pot for pasta
Peel onion & garlic & chop finely. Halve cherry tomatoes. For the spaghetti bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente for 6 – 7 minutes or according to the instructions on the packaging, then drain over a pasta strainer and put it back into the pot.
Heat up a pan adding a dash of oil, also add the cherry tomatoes and prawns to the pan and sauté over medium to high heat for about 2 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside.
…for the sauce:
Add some more oil to the pan, also add the onions & garlic and sweat over medium heat for about 2 – 3 minutes until glassy, stirring occasionally. Then pour in 300 milliliters sieved tomatoes as well as 100 milliliters cream & 1 teaspoon of oregano and stir well until everything is well combined.
If that’s done bring the sauce to a simmer, season with a pinch of salt, pepper, sugar and a few chili flakes and remove from the heat. Pour the sauce to the drained spaghetti, add the prawns & cherry tomatoes and mix well until creamy. Dish up spaghetti on deep plates and serve garnished with basil. Have fun cooking!
