As good a hamburger<\/a> or cheeseburger<\/a> in the end tastes stands and falls with the selection of the burger buns. In today’s post I will show you how to bake delicious and fluffy hamburger buns with sesame seeds<\/a> with little effort at home. Have fun!<\/p>\n

Homemade Hamburger Buns<\/p><\/div>\n

Ingredients for about 8 servings<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • 500 grams of flour<\/li>\n
  • Flour for the work surface<\/li>\n
  • 250 milliliters of lukewarm water<\/li>\n
  • 50 milliliters of lukewarm milk<\/li>\n
  • 50 grams of butter<\/li>\n
  • 2 eggs<\/li>\n
  • ½ cube of yeast<\/li>\n
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar<\/li>\n
  • 1 teaspoon of salt<\/li>\n
  • Sesame for sprinkling the buns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • A tall container for the yeast-water mixture<\/li>\n
    • A whisk\/fork to stir the yeast-water mixture<\/li>\n
    • A mixer\/food processor<\/li>\n
    • Large mixing bowl for the dough to stand\/rest<\/li>\n
    • Kitchen towel<\/li>\n
    • Baking tray + greaseproof paper<\/li>\n
    • Brush<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Instructions for the homemade burger buns:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Crumble \u00bd cube of yeast into a tall container. Pour in 250 milliliters of lukewarm water and 50 milliliters of lukewarm milk, also add 1 tablespoon of sugar and stir everything with a fork or whisk until the sugar and yeast have dissolved in the water and milk.<\/p>\n

      Next, take a mixing bowl and add the yeast-water-milk mixture together with 500 grams of flour, 1 egg, 50 grams of room temperature butter and 1 teaspoon of salt. Process all ingredients with a mixer or food processor for about 5 – 6 minutes to form a smooth and sticky dough.<\/p>\n

      Then place the dough on a well-floured work surface and knead it from the outside inwards and dust it with flour on all sides. Then form a ball out of the dough, put it back in the mixing bowl and cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rest for about 45 minutes until the dough has doubled in volume.<\/p>\n

      After the resting time, place the dough on a floured work surface and knead briefly again. Then cut 8 equal-sized pieces (for large burger buns) or 12 – 16 equal-sized pieces (for smaller burger buns) from the dough.<\/p>\n

      Form all pieces of dough into balls on a floured surface and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper (with a little space between them). Cover the burger buns with a kitchen towel and let them rest for another 45 minutes until the buns have doubled in volume.<\/p>\n

      Finally, whisk an egg and brush it all over the risen burger buns, sprinkle with a few sesame seeds and then bake in a preheated oven at 200\u00b0C (top\/bottom heat) for 15 – 20 minutes until golden brown. Have fun baking!<\/p>\n
