…for the Danish remoulade sauce:<\/em><\/p>\n

  • \u00bd glass mixed pickles (190 grams drained weight)<\/li>\n
  • 50 grams of mayonnaise<\/li>\n
  • 50 grams of sour cream<\/li>\n
  • 1 teaspoon mustard<\/li>\n
  • 1 teaspoon apricot jam<\/li>\n
  • 1 dash of lemon juice<\/li>\n
  • \u00bd teaspoon curry powder<\/li>\n
  • \u00bd teaspoon turmeric<\/li>\n
  • Sugar<\/li>\n
  • Salt & pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    …for the potato rosti:<\/em><\/p>\n

    • 750 grams waxy potatoes<\/li>\n
    • 1 large carrot<\/li>\n
    • 1 onion<\/li>\n
    • 100 grams of flour<\/li>\n
    • 1 egg<\/li>\n
    • Salt & pepper<\/li>\n
    • Oil for frying<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • 4 large lettuce leaves<\/li>\n
        • Crispy fried onions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Blender<\/li>\n
          • High vessel for mashing the pickles<\/li>\n
          • Bowl or deep plate for the sauce<\/li>\n
          • Whisk<\/li>\n
          • Plate + kitchen paper to drain the rostis<\/li>\n
          • Mixing bowl<\/li>\n
          • Grater<\/li>\n
          • 2 large pans<\/li>\n
          • 2 tablespoons<\/li>\n
          • Kitchen spatula<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            …for the Danish remoulade sauce:<\/em><\/p>\n

            Drain the pickles vegetables over a sieve and collect the dripping water. Give onions, cauliflower, carrots & gherkins (corn and peppers are not needed) into a tall vessel and puree with a blender together with 1 – 2 tablespoons of the collected dripping water until a lumpy paste, then set aside.<\/p>\n

            Stir together the pureed vegetables with 50 grams of mayonnaise, 50 grams of sour cream, 1 teaspoon of mustard, 1 teaspoon of apricot jam, 1 dash of lemon juice, \u00bd teaspoon of curry, \u00bd teaspoon of turmeric, a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper and a pinch of sugar with a whisk until a smooth sauce, then season with salt, pepper, sugar and collected dripping water and set aside until serving.<\/p>\n

            …for the burger patties:<\/em><\/p>\n

            Give 400 grams of ground beef and a good pinch of pepper in a bowl and mix properly with your hands. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form with your hands or a burger press to 4 burger patties.<\/p>\n

            …for the potato cakes:<\/em><\/p>\n

            Peel potatoes and carrots, then grate coarsely with a grater. Peel 1 onion and also grate to the potatoes. Then add 1 egg, 100 grams of flour and a good pinch of salt and pepper, mix everything with hands until well combined.<\/p>\n

            … other preparations:<\/em><\/p>\n

            Cut tomatoes and cucumber into thin slices.<\/p>\n

            …for the potato burger:<\/em><\/p>\n

            Heat up a large pan adding a neat dash of oil, once the oil is hot give 2 tablespoons of the potato mixture per potato cake into the pan, flatten slightly and saut\u00e9 for about 3 – 4 minutes each side until brown and crispy. Then carefully lift the potato cakes out of the pan and drain on kitchen paper.<\/p>\n

            Meanwhile: Heat up a second pan adding a dash of oil and fry the burger patties for about 2 – 3 minutes each side until brown.<\/p>\n

            Spread a potato cake with 2 – 3 tablespoons of remoulade sauce, then garnish with a lettuce leaf, a burger pattie, tomatoes and cucumbers, then top again with 2 – 3 tablespoons of remoulade sauce and fried onions, finally lid with a second potato cake and serve.<\/p>\n
