Cut lettuce into thin strips. Peel onions and cut into thin rings. Season neck steaks from both sides with salt and pepper.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8230;for the braised onions:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Heat up a large frying pan adding a generous flake of butter and slowly fry onions for about 7 &#8211; 8 minutes over low to medium heat while turning occasionally until soft and slightly brown.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; For the neck steaks:<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile: Heat up a (grill-) pan adding a dash of oil and brown neck steaks each side for about 2 &#8211; 3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8230;for the steak sandwiches:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Halve the rolls and spread the undersides with mustard, ketchup, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise or a sauce of your choice, then cover with a few slices of tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. Place a neck steak onto the salad and garnish with braised onions and possibly more sauce of your choice. Lid the sandwich with the upper half of the roll and enjoy!
