Ingredients for 12 waffles:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • 300 grams of flour<\/li>\n
  • 300 milliliters of milk<\/li>\n
  • 300 milliliters of water<\/li>\n
  • 3 eggs<\/li>\n
  • 150 grams of butter<\/li>\n
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar<\/li>\n
  • \u00bd cube of yeast<\/li>\n
  • Powdered sugar to dust the waffles<\/li>\n
  • A pinch of salt<\/li>\n
  • 1 glass of sour cherries<\/li>\n
  • 1 heaping teaspoon of cornflour<\/li>\n
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar<\/li>\n
  • Some oil for the waffle maker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Melt 150 grams of butter in the microwave. Crumble \u00bd cube of yeast into a high vessel, pour in 300 milliliters of lukewarm water and whisk until yeast has completely dissolved. Separate 3 eggs in egg yolks and egg whites.<\/p>\n

      …for the batter:<\/em><\/p>\n

      Give egg yolks together with flour, milk, yeast-water, 1 tablespoon of sugar and the melted butter into a mixing bowl. Mix all ingredients using a blender\/mixer until a smooth batter and let rest\/stand covered with a kitchen towel for about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

      Beat egg whites until stiff with a pinch of salt.<\/p>\n

      …for the hot cherries:<\/em><\/p>\n

      Drain sour cherries through a sieve, collect the juice in a bowl. Stir 3 – 4 tablespoons of cherry juice together with a heaping teaspoon of cornstarch and 1 packet of vanilla until smooth. <\/p>\n

      Heat up a small saucepan adding the remaining cherry juice and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornflour mixture and continue to simmer for about 1 minute. Add the drained cherries, give them a good stir and then remove the saucepan from the heat.<\/p>\n

      …for the belgian waffles:<\/em><\/p>\n

      Briefly stir the batter after the resting period, then carefully fold in the stiff egg whites. Slightly brush the waffle iron with oil, then give about 1 ladle of batter per waffle in a waffle iron and fry for about 4 – 5 minutes until golden brown.<\/p>\n

      Serve the waffles still hot on plates and dust with icing sugar. Serve waffles together with hot cherries.<\/p>\n
