Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 8 Taco Shells (here a recipe for Homemade taco Shells)
- 500 grams of chicken breast
- 2 – 3 tomatoes
- 2 – 3 spring onions
- 1 – 2 Jalapenos
- 10 branches of coriander
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 lime
- 100 grams of grated cheese
- 1 heaped teaspoon of ground coriander & cumin
- 1 cup of sour cream
- ½ head of Iceberg lettuce
- Olive oil
- Salt & pepper
Kitchen Helper/Gadgets:
- Kitchen paper
- 2 plates
- Cling film
- Garlic press
Instructions:
…preparations for the chicken:
Rinse chicken under running water, pat dry with kitchen paper & cut into thin strips. Give chicken strips on a deep plate, season with 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of ground coriander, a pinch of salt and pepper, a good splash of olive oil and the juice of half a lime & mix with your hands until all the spices have evenly distributed.
Cover the meat with cling film and store until browning in the refrigerator.
…for the tomato salsa:
Cut spring onions in small rings. Halve tomatoes, cut out the stalk and then finely dice. Halve jalapenos lengthwise, remove seeds and cut into thin strips. Finely chop coriander.
Give all ingredients (remove some coriander for garnish) on a deep plate & press a clove of garlic to the tomatoes. In addition, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, a drizzle of olive oil and the juice of half a lime. Mix everything with a spoon and then store covered with cling film in the refrigerator until serving.
…other preparations:
Cut iceberg lettuce into thin strips.
…for the meat:
Heat up a pan without adding oil or fat and fry the meat for a few minutes until golden brown.
…for the tacos:
Fill a taco shell with some browned chicken. Next, give some lettuce on the meat, then grated cheese, 2 – 3 tablespoons of tomato salsa & 1 – 2 teaspoons of sour cream. Serve the tacos garnished with some finely chopped coriander.
