Instructions:
…for the pizza dough:
Crumble ¼ cube of yeast into a large vessel, add 1 teaspoon of sugar & also pour in 125 milliliters of lukewarm water. Stir with a whisk or a fork until the yeast and sugar have dissolved completely.
Give 250 grams of flour into a mixing bowl, pour in the yeast-water mixture, also add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and ½ teaspoon of salt. Knead with your hands or a food processor to a smooth dough. Then form a ball of the dough, give the ball of dough back into the mixing bowl and and let rest/stand covered with a kitchen towel for about 30 – 45 minute in a warm place (possibly in the oven at 30°C).
…for the quick pizza sauce:
Peel onions and garlic and chop coarsely. Add onions and garlic along with 100 – 150 grams of sieved tomatoes and 2 tablespoons olive oil in a high vessel. Season with ½ teaspoon of marjoram, ½ teaspoon of basil, ½ teaspoon of oregano, a pinch of sugar and a litte salt & pepper. Puree using a hand blender to a smooth & creamy tomato sauce, then set aside.
…other preparations:
Cut salami into thin sticks or strips.
…for the stuffed pizza rolls:
Timely preheat the oven to 250°C (top/bottom heat). Slightly dust the working top with flour and roll out the dough using a rolling pin until thin and elongated to about 50 x 25cm. Spread the complete dough sheet with tomato sauce, then top with prepared salami and grated cheese. Roll up the dough from the long side until you got a long pizza roll.
Cut the pizza roll with a sharp knife in approximately 1 – 2 cm large “pizza snails” and put them with the stuffing upwards on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 – 10 minutes until golden brown. Get the ready baked pizza rolls out of the oven and serve them immediately.
Bon Appetite!
