Instructions:
…for batter:
Add 250 milliliters milk, 2 eggs, 1 sachet of vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt to a mixing bowl and mix with a whisk or blender until all ingredients are well combined.
Next, take a sieve and sift 250 grams flour as well as 1 teaspoon baking powder to the milk mixture, then stir in flour and baking powder until a smooth and viscous batter.
…for funnel cakes:
Heat up a pan or wok adding 400 – 500 milliliters of oil for deep-frying. Ideally, check the oil temperature with a thermometer and heat it up to 175°C – 180°C.
Transfer ¼ of the batter into a small creamer (or similar) and gently pour the batter into the hot oil with random “zig-zag” movements in a steady stream.
Deep-fry funnel cakes on each side until golden brown for about 2 minutes, turning them carefully. Then lift the done funnel cakes out of the oil and allow them to drain on kitchen paper.
Dust the funnel cakes with a generous portion of powdered sugar & serve still warm & crispy. Have fun baking!
