It continues in the Christmas bakery on my blog. Today I’ll show you a simple recipe for a delicious chocolate cake with mulled wine, but alternatively you can also use non-alcoholic punch or non-alcoholic red wine instead.
The chocolate cake is made with unsweetened cocoa and chopped dark chocolate and then baked in a bundt cake pan. Have fun baking 😉

Ingredients for 1 Mulled Wine & Chocolate Bundt Cake:
- 350 grams flour
- 200 grams sugar
- 200 grams soft butter
- 200 milliliters mulled wine
- 100 grams dark chocolate
- 50 grams cocoa powder
- 4 eggs
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar
- ½ sachet baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- Butter to grease the pan + powdered sugar for dusting
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Kitchen machine or mixer
- Mixing bowl
- Bundt cake pan or other suitable baking pan
- Knife to chop chocolate
…for batter & chocolate mulled wine cake:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat) in good time. Grease a bundt or box baking pan with a little butter. Roughly chop 100 grams dark chocolate with a knife and set aside.
Next, add 350 grams flour, 50 grams cocoa powder, ½ sachet baking powder & 1 pinch of salt to a small bowl and mix everything with a spoon until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Then put 4 eggs, 200 grams sugar, 1 sachet vanilla sugar & 200 grams soft butter to a mixing bowl and mix with a blender or kitchen machine for 1 – 2 minutes until white and creamy.
When this is done, add flour mixture and 200 milliliters of mulled wine to the creamy egg mixture and stir in until flour and mulled wine have been completely incorporated and you got a smooth batter, which is running in a viscous way from the stirring hook.
Finally, fold in the prepared dark chocolate and transfer the batter into the greased baking pan, then put the chocolate mulled wine cake into the preheated oven and bake for 50 – 60 minutes until done.
Get the done cake out of the oven, carefully overthrow onto a wire rack or cake plate & allow to cool completely, then dust the cake with some powdered sugar & serve. Have fun baking!
