Instructions:
…for the BBQ Sauce:
Pour whiskey into a saucepan, bring to a boil and simmer for about 1 minute. Peel a small garlic clove and press on with a large knife, then add to the whiskey. Next, give all other ingredients for the sauce in the pot and stir well together. Boil the sauce again and then let simmer with the lid closed and low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove the garlic after 1 hour, season with salt and pepper to taste and then remove the sauce from heat until ready to serve.
…preparations for the Onion Rings:
Mix well together 150 grams of flour, ½ packet of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of salt in a mixing bowl. Prepare a bowl with 150 grams of breadcrumbs. Peel onion and cut with a knife in about 1 centimeter thick slices. Seperate the onion slices gently into rings.
…for the Onion Rings:
Dip the onion rings into the flour mixture until they are all coated, then set aside the rings. Next, add 240 milliliters of milk and 1 egg to the flour and whisk together using a mixer until the mixture is clumping free. Then successively first dip all onion rings into the milk-flour mixture, drain briefly and finally turn in breadcrumbs.
Heat up a pan or wok with about 1 liter of oil for frying. Once the oil is hot enough carefully give the onion rings into the oil and fry about 3 – 4 minutes until golden brown. Drain the finished onion rings on kitchen paper and set aside until serving.
…for the burger buns:
Halve the burger buns and brown them briefly in a (grill) pan on the cutting side.
…for the burger patties:
Add 500 grams of ground beef and a good pinch of pepper in a bowl and mix together with your hands. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape with your hands or a burger press to 4 equal sized burger patties.
Heat up a large grill pan with a dash of oil and sauté the patties each side for about 2 – 3 minutes. Shortly before serving lay 1 slice processed cheese on each patty and allow to melt.
…for the BBQ Burger:
Spread both sides of the burger buns with plenty of barbecue sauce, then top the lower half with 1 large lettuce leaf and garnish the BBQ burger with 1 beef patty and onion rings at will, then lid the burger with the upper bun half and serve. Bon Appetite!
