Sweet & Sour Sauce is a classic Chinese sauce, but alsoon the menu in various fast food restaurants. It is ideal for dipping of spring rolls, chicken nuggets or fried vegetables.
In today’s post I will show you how to make a quick and easy Sweet & Sour Sauce at home. Have fun cooking!
Homemade: Homemade Sweet & Sour Sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 75 grams canned peaches (drained)
- 75 grams canned apricots (drained)
- 40 grams of light syrup
- 5 tablespoons of white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of corn starch
- 1 teaspoon of mustard
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
- About 30 milliliters of water
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Tall container for pureeing the ingredients
- Blender
- Small pot for cooking the sauce
- Whisk
Instructions for the Homemade Sweet & Sour Sauce:
Place the peaches and apricots in a tall container. Add 40 grams of light syrup, also add 5 tablespoons of white wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of mustard, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, ½ teaspoon of salt & ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder.
Puree all ingredients with a hand blender for about 2 minutes until a smooth sauce is formed. Put the pureed sauce in a pot, add 1 dash of water (about 30 milliliters) and then bring to the boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Let the sauce simmer until it thickens slightly, then remove from the heat and allow to cool in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Then serve with chicken nuggets or fried vegetables. Have fun cooking!
