I bake today: Simple & Easy Plum Crumble Cake

Ingredient for 1 Plum Crumble Cake:
- 1 kilogram plums
- 500 grams of flour
- 250 grams of butter
- 200 grams of sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- A pinch of salt
Kitchen Helper:
- 26er springform pan
- Baking paper
- Mixing bowl
- A knife to halve the plums
- Wire rack/baking shelf
Instructions:
Line the bottom of a springform pan with parchment paper. Halve plums with a knife & then pit plums. Cut butter into small pieces. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (top/bottom heat).
…for the plum pie dough:
Add flour, butter pieces (the butter should be cold), sugar, 1 egg, 1 sachet of vanilla sugar, 1 sachet of baking powder & a pinch of salt into a large mixing bowl. Knead all ingredients with your hands until crumbly.
…for the plum pie:
Give about ⅔ of the crumbly dough into the lined springform pan and press at the bottom. Evenly distribute the prepared plum halves (you can also cut plums into smaller pieces) on the pressed dough and then sprinkle them with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Sprinkle the remaining dough as crumbles on the plum slices.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven at 180°C for about 45 – 50 minutes until golden brown & crispy. Get the cake out of the oven & allow to cool on a wire rack. Best served still warm & with a dash of whipped cream. Bon Appetite!
