Mug cakes are small cakes from the microwave. For that you have to transfer the batter to a coffee mug and then heat up or “bake” for a maximum of 2 minutes in the microwave.
Today I’ll show you how simple & easy it is to make a tasty mug cake in the microwave. Have fun baking!

Ingredients for 2 Microwave Cakes:
- 60 grams flour
- 50 grams sugar
- 40 milliliters milk
- 20 grams ground almonds
- 20 milliliters oil
- 10 grams cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- Butter to grease the mugs
- Powdered sugar to dust
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Mixing bowl
- 2 coffee mugs
…for the batter:
In a mixing bowl combine 1 egg, 40 milliliters milk, 20 milliliters oil, 50 grams sugar & a pinch of salt & mix using a whisk for about 1 – 2 minutes until well combined.
Next, add the dry ingredients (60 grams flour, 20 grams ground almonds, 10 grams cocoa powder & ¼ teaspoon baking powder) & stir together everything until you got a nice & smooth batter.
…for the mug cakes:
Grease 2 coffee mugs with butter or oil & transfer the prepared batter to the mugs until half full.
Put the mug cakes into the microwave one by one & heat up for about 2 minutes at 700 watts, then get the done cakes out of the microwave & allow to cool briefly.
Dust the done microwave cakes with powdered sugar & serve still warm. I wish you lots of fun baking!
