Instructions:
…for gnocchi “al forno” with mushrooms:
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees with the grill function switched on in good time. Peel and finely chop the onion & garlic. Clean and slice the mushrooms. For the sauce, heat a pan or saucepan with a little oil, add the garlic & onions to the pan & sweat for 2 – 3 minutes, turning occasionally.
Next add the mushrooms & sauté for a further 3 – 4 minutes over medium-high heat, turning occasionally & adding a little more oil to the pan if necessary. As soon as the mushrooms start to lose water, add a teaspoon of sweet paprika powder and a good pinch of salt & pepper, stir briefly & then deglaze the mushrooms with 100 milliliters of white wine.
Allow the white wine to boil down almost completely while stirring & then add the remaining ingredients to the pan, add 800 grams of gnocchi (from the refrigerated section) & pour in 200 milliliters of cream.
Tip: As an alternative to white wine, you can also use stock or broth to deglaze if you want to avoid alcohol.
Stir all the ingredients well, bring the gnocchi with mushrooms to a boil and then remove from the heat and pour into a suitable casserole dish. Sprinkle everything with some grated cheese & put in the preheated oven (relatively high) for a few minutes to gratinate.
Once the cheese has melted & has turned into a nice golden brown colour, take the gnocchi out of the oven, arrange on plates & serve garnished with basil if desired. Have fun cooking!
