In today’s post I’ll show you a quick & easy recipe for delicious cheese rolls with bacon bits, which, like many other bread roll recipes on my channel, are made from a loose yeast dough. Have fun baking!

Ingredients for 10 cheesy bacon bread rolls:
- 500 grams flour
- 225 grams bacon bits
- 125 milliliters lukewarm milk
- 125 milliliters lukewarm water
- 1 egg
- ½ cube of fresh yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt & sugar each
- 10 slices cheese (for example Gouda)
- Possibly additional flour for the countertop
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Kitchen machine or mixer with dough hook
- Mixing bowl
- Kitchen towel
- Knife
- Baking sheet + parchment paper
Instructions:
…for bacon cheese bread rolls:
Crumble ½ cube (about 20 grams) of fresh yeast into a mixing bowl, then pour in 125 milliliters of lukewarm milk and 125 milliliters of lukewarm water, stirring briefly if necessary. Next, add 500 grams of flour, 150 grams of bacon bits, 1 medium sized egg, 1 teaspoon of sugar & ½ teaspoon of salt in a mixing bowl and knead into a smooth dough using a food processor or a mixer with a dough hook for 4 – 5 minutes.
Then knead the dough briefly again with your hands on a lightly floured work surface, cut it into 10 pieces of approximately the same size with a knife & shape or round each piece of dough into a ball & place them on one or two baking trays lined with baking paper, a little apart from each other.
Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rest in a warm place for another 45 – 60 minutes until the dough volume has increased significantly. Preheat the oven in good time to 180°C (fan oven) or 200°C (top/bottom heat). After the resting time, spread the remaining 75 grams of bacon bits on top of the rolls & cover each bread roll with a slice of cheese.
Then bake the bacon cheese rolls in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the rolls are golden brown in color. Take the finished bacon cheese rolls out of the oven and then let them cool on the baking tray or a rack. It is best to serve them warm. Have fun baking and enjoy your meal!
