Ingredients for a sheet quark crumble cake:
…for dough & crumbles:
- 600 grams flour
- 300 grams butter
- 200 grams sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar
- 1 sachet baking powder
…for quark layer:
- 750 grams quark
- 100 grams sugar
- 75 grams melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 organic lemon
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- 2 Mixing bowls
- Mixer
- Grater
- Baking sheet + baking paper
Instructions:
…for crumbly dough:
Preheat the oven to 180 C (top/bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut butter into pieces and put along with 600 grams flour, 200 grams sugar, 1 egg & a sachet each of baking powder and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl, then knead everything together with your hands for 2 – 3 minutes to a crumbly dough.
In a second mixing bowl combine 750 grams quark, 100 grams sugar, 75 grams melted butter, 2 eggs, 1 sachet vanilla sugar & the zest of an organic lemon & mix together with a blender for 1 – 2 minutes until smooth & everything is well combined.
…for quark crumble cake:
Put ⅔ crumble dough onto the prepared baking sheet & press on evenly. Next, pour quark mixture on top & spread evenly, finally sprinkle everything with the rest of the crumble dough. Bake cake in preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 50 minutes until golden brown.
Get the done quark crumble cake out of the oven, allow to cool a bit & then cut into squares & serve. Have fun baking!
