Homemade Mayonnaise

Ingredients for about 1 small jar mayonnaise:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 200 milliliters sunflower oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • ¼ lemon
  • Salt & pepper

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk

Instructions for the Homemade Mayonnaise:

Put 1 egg yolk, 1 teaspoon mustard & a small dash of sunflower oil in a mixing bowl & mix with a whisk until everything is completely combined.

Then again add a small dash of oil & stir in with a whisk until the oil has been completely incorporated. Now repeat the whole thing until the entire amount (200 milliliters) of sunflower oil has been added and stirred in.

The mayonnaise should become thicker and whiter. Finally, season with a little lemon juice and a good pinch of salt and pepper to taste.

Tip: Stir in the spices and lemon juice well. If the mayonnaise is still too thick, you can also add a small sip of water.

Then pour the mayonnaise into dip bowls and serve with homemade fries! Have fun cooking!
