- 4 mini salamis
- Salt, pepper & oregano
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- High container for the yeast-water mixture
- Mixing bowl
- Mixer/Kitchen machine
- Kitchen towel
- Rolling pin
- Baking sheet + parchment paper
Instructions:
…for the dough:
Crumble ¼ cube of fresh yeast into a high container, add ½ teaspoon sugar & 125 milliliters of lukewarm water, then mix together everything using a whisk or fork until yeast and sugar have completely dissolved.
Next, in a mixing bowl combine the yeast-water mixture along with 250 grams flour, 25 milliliters olive oil & ½ teaspoon salt & knead together all ingredients with your hands or a kitchen machine for about 4 – 5 minutes until a smooth dough. Then give the dough a ball shape, lay it back to the mixing bowl & allow to rest covered with a kitchen towel for about 30 minutes in a warm place.
…preparations for the pizza boats:
Timely preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Cut mini salamis into thin slices with a knife.
After resting time thoroughly knead the dough again on a slightly floured working top for about 1 – 2 minutes, then use a knife to cut the dough into 4 equal sized pieces. Form all dough pieces into small balls & then roll out until thin and flat using a rolling pin on a slightly floured working top to form elongated & oval dough sheets.
…for the pizza boats:
Place 2 dough sheets next to each other on a lined baking tray & spread each dough sheet with 2 – 3 tablespoons of sieved tomatoes, leaving free about 1 centimeter at the edges. Season the pizza boats with salt, pepper and oregano to taste and top with grated cheese and salami slices.
Fold the edges about 1 centimeter over the filling & slightly press together the tips at the ends to form small boats. Afterwards bake the pizza boats for about 15 minutes in a preheated oven until golden brown, then get out of the oven and serve immediately. I wish you lots of fun cooking 😉
