Cold & frost slowly get off the starting blocks, the Advent season is coming with big steps and the supermarket shelves are already full of Christmas cookies of all kinds.
In today’s post, I’ll show you a recipe for quick & easy chocolate hazelnut cookies that also taste good outside Christmas time! Have fun baking 😉

Ingredients for about 24 cookies:
- 200 grams flour
- 150 grams soft butter
- 100 grams brown sugar
- 100 grams chopped hazelnuts
- 50 grams ground hazelnuts
- 30 grams cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar
- ½ sachet baking powder
- A pinch of salt
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Bowl for the dry ingredients
- Mixing bowl
- Mixer/Kitchen machine
- Baking tray + parchment paper
- Plate to spread chopped hazelnuts
…for the dough:
In a suitable bowl, mix together 200 grams flour, 50 grams ground hazelnuts, 30 grams cocoa powder & ½ sachet baking powder until well combined.
Next, in a second mixing bowl combine 150 grams soft butter, 100 grams brown sugar, 1 egg, 1 sachet vanilla sugar & a pinch of salt & mix together for 2 – 3 minutes using a mixer or kitchen machine until creamy.
Then add the dry ingredients spoonwise to the creamy butter mixture and mix with a blender or food processor until all the dry ingredients have been completely incorporated & the dough is much firmer but still slightly sticky.
…for the chocolate hazelnut cookies:
Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with baking paper, also prepare a plate and evenly distribute the chopped hazelnuts on it.
Then shape about 24 balls of equal size from the dough by rolling between your palms & gently press each dough ball once on the plate with the chopped hazelnuts. Afterwards place each cookie with a little distance to each other on the prepared baking tray.
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for approx. 12 – 15 minutes until crispy, then get the done cookies out of the oven, allow to cool slightly & serve. I wish you lots of fun baking!
