In today’s post, I’ll show you a simple & easy recipe for a fruity homemade mango ketchup.
The mango ketchup is made super fast & without much effort & is ideal as a side dish for barbecue or simple French fries respectively potato wedges. I wish you lots of fun cooking 😉

Ingredients for about 500 milliliters Mango Ketchup:
- 300 milliliters sieved tomatoes
- 1 mango
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- A small piece ginger
- 40 milliliters white wine vinegar
- 1 – 2 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon each of ground coriander, turmeric & sweet paprika powder
- Oil for frying
- Salt, pepper & chili powder
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Small pot or saucepan for ketchup
- Glasses or jars for bottling
- Funnel
- Blender
Instructions:

Core mangos, peel and dice the pulp. Peel onion and cut roughly into small pieces. Peel and chop ginger & garlic. Heat up a small saucepan with a dash oil, add onions, garlic and ginger to the pot and sweat over medium heat for 2 – 3 minutes until glassy, while stirring from time to time.
Nextadd ½ teaspoon each of ground coriander, turmeric & sweet paprika powder and sauté briefly. Now add 300 milliliters of sieved tomatoes, the mango cubes, 40 milliliters white wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar & 1 – 2 bay leaves. Give everything a good stir, bring to a boil and allow to simmer over low heat for about 12 – 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Afterwards remove the mango ketchup from heat, purée with a blender for about 1 – 2 minutes to a smooth tomato sauce and then fill into suitable bottles or glasses with the help of a funnel. I wish you lots of fun cooking 😉
