In today’s post, I’ll show you a simple recipe for delicious pizza rolls or pizza snails. The rolls are placed next to each other in a springform pan, baked and can then be served as a pull apart bread, for example, on a buffet.
The pizza rolls can be filled or stuffed at whim, for this recipe I have chosen mini pepperoni sausages. Have fun baking!

Instructions:
…for pizza dough:
Line the bottom of a springform pan with parchment paper and grease the sides with a bit butter. Crumble ¼ cubes of yeast into a tall container, add 1 teaspoon of sugar and 200 milliliters of lukewarm water and mix together with a whisk or a fork until yeast and sugar have completely dissolved.
Then put the yeast-water mixture along with 400 grams flour, 25 milliliters olive oil & 1 teaspoon of salt into a mixing bowl and knead with your hands or a food processor for about 4 – 5 minutes until a smooth dough, which should completely detached from the bowl wall.
…for pizza rolls:
On a lightly floured worktop use a rolling pin to roll out the dough as thin & rectangular as possible to the size of 50cm x 40cm. Spread the dough sheet with 150 milliliters of sieved tomatoes, then season with oregano & a pinch of salt & pepper & finish with 200 grams of grated cheese.
Cut the dough into 12 equal strips with a pizza cutter & roll up each strip to a snail or roll. Put the pizza snails into the prepared springform pan, placing 3 snails in the middle and the rest with a little distance around them. Cover the springform pan with a kitchen towel & allow to rest for 45 – 60 minutes in a warm place until the dough volume of the pizza snails has increased significantly.
Preheat the oven to 200 C (top/bottom heat) in good time. Cut 2 mini salamis into thin slices with a knife. Garnish the pizza rolls with salami slices after the resting period and then bake in a preheated oven for approx. 25 minutes until golden brown & crispy. Get the done pizza rolls out of the oven, allow to cool slightly and then best serve still warm. Have fun baking!
