A “One Pot Pasta” is a fast pasta dish where all the ingredients, including the pasta, are cooked in a pot. The noodles are cooked together with all other ingredients and thus absorb the taste of the sauce during the cooking time.
On the internet you will find a variety of these One Pot Pasta recipes, in today’s article I show you a variant with ground meat & creamy tomato sauce. Have fun cooking!

Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 grams ground meat (half beef/half pork)
- 400 grams fusilli noodles (or other pasta shape of your choice)
- 400 grams sieved tomatoes
- 1 liter water
- 1 large onion
- 1 – 2 clove(s) garlic
- 1 handful grated Parmesan cheese
- 50 milliliters cream (or milk)
- A teaspoon each of cumin, grated coriander, turmeric, oregano, sweet paprika powder & spicy paprika powder
- Salt & pepper
- Oil for frying
- Parsley for garnishing
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Large pan or pot with lid
…for One Pot Pasta:
Peel onion & finely chop. Also peel off garlic and chop finely. Finely chop the parsley & set aside for the garnish. Heat up a large pan or pot adding a dash oil, add onions & garlic to the pan & sweat until glassy for 2 – 3 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Next add 500 grams of ground meat & fry until crumbly for another 4 – 5 minutes while stirring from time to time. When done, season the meat with a teaspoon each of cumin, turmeric, oregano, ground coriander, paprika powder (spicy) & paprika powder (sweet) & stir in the spices until everything is well combined.
Afterwards add 400 grams fusilli pasta, 1 liter water, 400 grams sieved tomatoes and 1 teaspoon of salt, give everything a good stir & then bring to a simmer. Allow to simmer gently with the lid closed for about 15 minutes over low to medium heat until the pasta is done & has absorbed most of the liquid, stirring occasionally.
Finally, add 1 handful of grated Parmesan cheese, 50 milliliters cream and a good pinch of pepper, stir well one last time and then remove the pan from heat. Spread the pasta on deep plates and serve garnished with finely chopped parsley. Have fun cooking!
