In summer, the dishes for lunch should be fresh, light and ideally quickly prepared. Therefore, couscous is ideal for the summer kitchen, just pour hot water over it and allow to soak.

In today’s recipe, I’ll show you a quick couscous pan with spicy minced meat & paprika. Prepared super quickly & on the table in a maximum of 25 minutes. Have fun cooking!

Simple Couscous Stir-Fry with Beef & Paprika

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 250 grams couscous
  • 250 milliliters water
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 3 bell pepeprs (green, yellow & red)
  • 1 large onion
  • A teaspoon each of cumin, sweet paprika powder & ground coriander
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sour cream or yogurt
  • Parsley & lemon wedges for garnishing

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Large pan for couscous beef mixture

Peel and roughly chop the onion. Core the peppers & cut into small pieces. Heat up a large pan with a dash of oil, add 500 grams of ground beef to the pan & fry over medium to high heat for about 3 – 4 minutes until crumbly, turning occasionally.

Next, add the prepared vegetables & fry for another 4 – 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until the peppers are soft but still have bite, then add 1 can of chopped tomatoes, 250 grams of couscous & pour in 250 milliliters of water.




Season everything with 1 teaspoon each of cumin, ground coriander & sweet paprika powder and a good pinch of salt & pepper, then mix well, allow to simmer gently & as soon as the couscous is done, pull the pan from the stove.

Spread the couscous pan on deep plates & serve garnished with a dollop of sour cream or yogurt, lemon wedges & some chopped parsley. Have fun cooking!
