The asparagus season in Germany is slowly starting & today I was also able to buy baby potatoes from local cultivation in the supermarket. Then I put a small head of broccoli, some bacon bits, cream & milk in the shopping cart & I had all the ingredients for a delicious & quick potato stir fry ready.
In today’s post I’ll show you a delicious potato recipe with asparagus, broccoli & bacon, the cooking including all preparations is done in 25 – 30 minutes. Fast, easy & delicious. I wish you lots of fun cooking!

Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 750 grams baby potatoes
- 500 grams asparagus
- 1 small head broccoli
- 400 milliliters milk
- 200 milliliters cream
- 100 grams bacon bits
- 1 large onion
- 1 clove garlic
- Nutmeg to taste
- Oil for frying
- Salt & pepper
- Parsley for garnishing

Instructions:
…for potato stir-fry with asparagus, broccoli & bacon:
Peel and finely chop a large onion. Wash baby potatoes & cut into bite-sized pieces. Peel the asparagus and cut into 3 – 4 centimeter pieces. Cut the broccoli into fine florets. Then heat a large pan with a small dash of oil, add onions & 100 grams of bacon bits to the pan & sauté for 2 – 3 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Next add the potatoes, sauté briefly & then add 1 pressed clove of garlic, a very good pinch of salt and 400 milliliters of milk & 200 milliliters of cream, stir everything well, bring to the boil & then allow to simmer for 8 – 10 minutes over low to medium heat until potatoes are almost done.
Finally add the broccoli & asparagus & simmer, with the lid on, over low to medium heat for another 4 – 5 minutes until the veggies have reached the desired consistency, stirring occasionally. Season the potato pan with nutmeg, salt & pepper to taste, then serve garnished with finely chopped parsley. Have fun cooking!
