Instructions:
…for the farmer’s pot with Brussels sprouts, ground meat & potatoes:
Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Clean the Brussels sprouts, remove the outer wilted leaves and cut the stalk crosswise so that the Brussels sprouts cook more evenly. Peel the onion and garlic and chop finely. Heat a large pan or pot with a splash of oil, add the garlic and onions to the pan and sweat for 2 – 3 minutes until translucent, turning occasionally.
Next, add 500 grams of minced meat and fry until crumbly, turning occasionally, for another 3 – 4 minutes, seasoning the minced meat generously with salt and pepper. When that’s done, add 1 teaspoon each of oregano, thyme aas well as sweet and hot paprika powder, also add the potato cubes and the Brussels sprouts to the pan and stir everything together well.
Then stir in 600 milliliters of vegetable stock and 1 can of chopped tomatoes, bring everything to the boil and then simmer over medium heat, turning/stirring occasionally, for about 12 – 15 minutes, or until the potatoes and Brussels sprouts are cooked or have reached the desired consistency.
Finally, season the farmer’s pot with Brussels sprouts with a good pinch of salt and pepper, remove from the heat and spread on deep plates. Garnish the farmer’s pot with some finely chopped parsley and serve with sour cream or yogurt. Have fun cooking! Bon appetit!
