Instructions:
…for pointed bread rolls:
Crumble ¼ cube of yeast in a mixing bowl, add 350 milliliters of lukewarm water & stir everything with a whisk or a fork until the yeast has completely dissolved. Next, put 500 grams of flour & 1 teaspoon of salt in the mixing bowl & knead everything with a food processor or mixer with dough hook for about 4 – 5 minutes to a smooth & sticky dough.
Then briefly knead the dough with your hands on a floured work surface from the outside inwards and cut into 8 pieces of roughly the same size with a knife or a dough scraper.
Then first shape or fold each piece of dough with your fingers into a small round roll, next shape into a slightly elongated or oval dough roll under the palm of your hand & finally shape the two ends into a point. Place all the formed rolls next to each other on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, sprinkle with flour & leave to rest covered with a kitchen towel for 45 minutes in a warm place.
Preheat the oven to 250°C (top/bottom heat) in good time, placing a small baking tin or fireproof bowl with around 100 milliliters of water on the oven floor so that steam is produced during baking.
Cut the risen rolls a few times with a sharp knife & then put them in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes & bake until golden brown & crispy. Take the finished rolls out of the oven, let them cool down briefly & then serve immediately. Happy baking!
