Quick Steak Sandwiches with Tomatoes & Braised Onions
Ingredients for 4 Steak Sandwiches:
- 4 rolls
- 4 neck steaks
- 2 tomatoes
- ½ head iceberg salad
- 2 onions
- Mustard, ketchup, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise or other sauce of your choice
- Butter & a little oil for frying
- Salt & pepper
Kitchen Helper/Gadgets:
- 2 frying pans
Instructions:
…preparations:
Wash tomatoes, then cut into slices. Cut lettuce into thin strips. Peel onions and cut into thin rings. Season neck steaks from both sides with salt and pepper.
…for the braised onions:
Heat up a large frying pan adding a generous flake of butter and slowly fry onions for about 7 – 8 minutes over low to medium heat while turning occasionally until soft and slightly brown.
… For the neck steaks:
Meanwhile: Heat up a (grill-) pan adding a dash of oil and brown neck steaks each side for about 2 – 3 minutes.
…for the steak sandwiches:
Halve the rolls and spread the undersides with mustard, ketchup, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise or a sauce of your choice, then cover with a few slices of tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. Place a neck steak onto the salad and garnish with braised onions and possibly more sauce of your choice. Lid the sandwich with the upper half of the roll and enjoy! Bon Appetite!
