Ingredients for about 1 bottle homemade ketchup:
- 300 grams sieved tomatoes
- 150 grams light syrup
- 100 milliliters cider vinegar
- 50 milliliters water
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk
- Small saucepan
- Funnel
- Bottle or suitable screw top jar for filling
Instructions for the Homemade Ketchup:
Put all the ingredients listed above for the ketchup in a mixing bowl & mix with a whisk until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Then pour the ketchup base into a small saucepan & bring to the boil while stirring. Once it starts to simmer, stop stirring and let the ketchup simmer over low to medium heat with the lid half open for 30 minutes.
Stir the ketchup briefly from time to time so that nothing can burn on the bottom of the pot & remove from the stove after 30 minutes. Pour the ketchup into a bottle or a suitable screw-top jar with the help of a funnel, close it and let it cool down, then serve with homemade fries! Have fun imitating!
