A few months ago I showed you a recipe for a simple tortellini stir-fry on this blog. In today’s post we cook the tortellini in a casserole dish together with a light cream sauce. Other ingredients for this tortellini casserole are broccoli and boiled ham.
For the casserole dish simply put everything in a suitable baking dish, pour over the cream sauce & bake in the oven topped with grated cheese. The dish is cooked very quickly and tastes delicious. Have fun cooking 🙂

Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 800 grams tortellini (from the refrigerated shelf)
- 1 head broccoli
- 125 grams boiled ham
- 400 milliliters milk
- 200 milliliters cream
- 200 milliliters vegetable stock
- 50 grams grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 heaping tablespoon butter
- 1 heaping tablespoon flour
- About 150 grams grated cheese to gratinate
- Salt & pepper
- Possibly chives for garnishing
Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:
- Saucepan for the cream sauce
- Baking dish
Divide broccoli into fine florets & then halve or cut into smaller pieces depending on their size. Cut ham into thin strips. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat) in good time.
…for the sauce:
Give 1 heaping tablespoon butter into a saucepan & allow to melt over low to medium heat. Once the butter is completely melted & starts to foam add 1 heaping tablespoon flour & whisk together until well combined.
Next, pour in 400 milliliters milk & stir together with a whisk until free of flour lumps. If that’s done add 200 milliliters cream, 200 milliliters vegetable stock & season the sauce with a generous pinch of salt & pepper.
Bring the sauce to a boil while stirring constantly over low to medium heat, allow to simmer for about 1 minute & then remove from heat & stir in 50 grams grated Parmesan cheese.
…for the tortellini casserole:
Spread tortellini, broccoli florets & ham into a suitable baking dish & mix together. Then pour the cream sauce over the tortellini, sprinkle everything with 150 grams grated cheese & bake for about 20 – 25 minutes in the preheated oven until cheese is melted & surface is golden brown & crispy.
Get the done tortellini dish out of the oven, serve on plates & possibly garnish with some chopped chives. I wish you lots of fun cooking 😉
