In today’s post, I’ll show you a super quick & easy recipe for gratinated bread rolls with meat & feta cheese. Simply prepare the ground meat mixture, cut the pre-baked rolls, top them & put them in the oven. As simple as it sounds

The meat in this recipe is seasoned oriental with sumac, organo & paprika, but in principle any other seasoning is possible. Just have a try. Have fun Baking!

Ingredients for 10 – 12 servings:

  • 5 – 6 bread rolls for crisping up
  • 400 grams ground meat (half beef/half pork)
  • 150 grams feta cheese
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 heaping tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 – 3 cloves garlic
  • A heaping teaspoon each of sweet paprika, spicy paprika, oregano & sumac
  • Salt & pepper
  • Parsley for garnish

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet + baking paper

Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection) or 200°C (top/bottom heat) in good time. Wash, deseed and finely dice the peppers. Peel and finely chop the onion & garlic, then put everything in a mixing bowl together with 400 grams of ground meat. Season the meat with a good pinch of salt & pepper and 1 heaping teaspoon each of paprika powder (sweet), paprika powder (spicy), oregano & sumac.

Finally, add 1 heaped tablespoon of tomato paste & 1 can of chopped tomatoes & stir everything together well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed, then set the meat mixture aside for a moment. Halve 5 – 6 pre-baked rolls in the middle & spread/cover each with 1 well-heaped tablespoon of the meat mixture, then place next to each other on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Crumble some feta cheese over the bread rolls & then bake in the preheated oven for 12 – 15 minutes until the feta cheese is lightly browned & the meat is done. Take the done bread rolls out of the oven, garnish with chopped parsley and serve. Happy baking!
