In today’s post I’ll show you a delicious & quick recipe for a colorful pasta casserole with peppers, corn, peas & chopped Vienna sausages, a pasta bake for the whole family 🙂

The recipe is a little more complicated than a pasta pan or one pot pasta, but it’s definitely worth it in terms of taste. The kitchen smells wonderful as soon as the casserole with cheese is baked in the oven. Definitely try it out. Have fun cooking and enjoy your meal.

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 400 Gramm fusilli pasta (or other pasta shape)
  • 400 milliliters milk
  • 400 grams Vienna sausages
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes (400 grams)
  • 150 grams grated cheese (eg. mozzarella cheese)
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 100 grams frozen peas
  • 100 grams canned corn
  • A tablespoon each of butter & flour
  • A teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder & oregano
  • Salt & pepper

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Large pot for pasta
  • Small pot or saucepan for sauce
  • Whisk
  • Pasta sieve
  • Suitable baking dish

Preheat the oven in good time to 200°C (fan oven). Wash, deseed and cut the peppers into small pieces. Also cut the sausages into pieces and put them in a suitable casserole dish together with the peppers, corn and peas and set aside. Bring a large pot with plenty of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta in it for 7 – 8 minutes or according to the package instructions until al dente.

For the sauce, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a small saucepan. As soon as the butter starts to foam, add a tablespoon of flour, then stir the flour and butter with a whisk until smooth and bring to the boil or foam briefly.

Next, pour in 400 milliliters of cold milk and 1 can of chopped tomatoes, stir briefly and season everything with 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder and oregano. Bring the sauce to the boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, season generously with salt and pepper and then remove from the heat.

After the cooking time, drain the pasta in a pasta sieve and then add it to the casserole dish along with the prepared sauce. Mix everything together well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Finally, sprinkle the pasta bake with grated cheese and put it in the preheated oven for 15 – 20 minutes.

Take the finished pasta bake out of the oven, spread it on plates and serve. Have fun cooking and enjoy your meal!
