In today’s post I will show you a super simple & delicious recipe for fried salmon with creamy mustard sauce. Alternatively, you can also prepare this recipe with other types of fish such as cod or pollack.

The preparation is super easy and quick, all the ingredients for the sauce are put into a tall mixing jar, stirred together briefly and then cooked in the pan together with the fried salmon. Cooked rice, pasta or potatoes go well with this as a side dish. Have fun cooking!

Ingredients for 4 – 6 servings:

  • 4 salmon fillets (150 grams each)
  • 250 milliliters milk
  • 150 milliliters veggie stock or broth
  • 1 heaping tablespoon mustard (medium-hot)
  • 1 heaping teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 5 – 6 sprigs parsley
  • 1 Lemon
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt & pepper

Required kitchen gadgets, helper & preparations:

  • Large pan or pot
  • Suitable baking dish

For the mustard sauce, add 250 milliliters of milk, 150 milliliters of vegetable stock, 1 heaped tablespoon of mustard, 1 heaped teaspoon of cornstarch, ¼ teaspoon of grated nutmeg & a very good pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper into a mixing bowl and mix together with a fork or whisk until everything is combined, set aside until further use.

Next, heat up a large non-stick pan with a good splash of oil, fry the salmon fillets for 2 – 3 minutes on each side, turning once and seasoning with salt and pepper. Then pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the salmon, bring everything to the boil and simmer for a few minutes until the salmon is cooked and the mustard sauce has reached a nice, creamy consistency.

At the same time, wash and finely chop 5 – 6 sprigs of parsley. Cut a lemon into wedges. Garnish the salmon with mustard sauce with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges and cooked rice as a sider. Alternatively, serve with pasta or potatoes. Have fun cooking! Bon appetit!
