In the last few days the temperatures have been falling and pumpkins and other autumn ingredients have been available in the supermarkets, so the perfect time for a delicious pumpkin recipe is here.
In today’s post I will show you a simple pan dish with pumpkin, gnocchi & ground meat in a creamy sauce seasoned with curry & paprika powder. A real soul warmer. Have fun cooking at home!

Ingredients for 4 – 6 servings:
- 1 small hokkaido pumpkin
- 500 grams ground beef
- 500 grams gnocchi (from the refrigerated shelf)
- 200 grams creme fraiche
- 1 large onion
- 2 – 3 cloves garlic
- 1 heaping teaspoon curry powder
- 1 heaping teaspoon sweet paprika powder
- Oil for frying
- Salt & pepper
- Chopped parsley for garnish

Wash, core and cut the pumpkin into bite-sized pieces. Peel the onion & garlic & chop finely. Next, heat up a large pan with a dash of oil, add the onions & garlic to the pan & sweat for 2 – 3 minutes over medium heat until translucent.
Next, add 500 grams of ground meat to the pan & fry it over medium to high heat for another 3 – 4 minutes, turning occasionally, until crumbly. Then season with a little salt & pepper to taste, also add 1 heaping teaspoon each of curry and sweet paprika powder & the pumpkin pieces.
Mix everything well together, then add 1 teaspoon of salt & pourin some water until the pumpkin is just covered with liquid. Bring the pan’s contents to a boil & then simmer gently for about 8 – 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pumpkin is cooked.
Finally, add 500 grams of gnocchi & 200 grams of creme fraiche to the pan, stir everything well one last time & simmer briefly until everything has a creamy consistency. Spread the finished pumpkin gnocchi mixture on deep plates, garnish with some chopped parsley and serve. Have fun cooking at home!
